IE 7 locks up

I am having a problem with IE 7. It worked fine for 3 or 4 days and now it will not open any websites and keeps the processor at about 40 percent usage. I have to use the task manager to shut it down. I have tried rebooting several times. The last thing I can remember doing for this occured was installing the lastest version of Java.

And does it work if you uninstall Java?

Yes it does. I loaded Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 7 when prompted for another program.

I did. I was just hoping it was something else, so that I could use the program that required that version of Java. I should know better then to mix beta's with beta's with beta's.
